GET HITCHED ON OUR HERITAGE AT UPPER CANADA VILLAGE Upper Canada Village will open for its 49th season on Saturday, May 22, and this year, the premier historic attraction is promising to engage, enrich, educate and entertain its customers with new and unique hands-on experiences and events. Kicking off the 2010 season are the Queen Victoria Birthday Celebrations. Starting on Saturday, May 22 through to Monday, May 24 visitors are invited to join in as the 1860s Village celebrates Queen Victoria's birthday! Visitors can sing "God Save the Queen", hear historical patriotic speeches, see grand military manoeuvres of the Brockville Infantry Company, hear the Fort Henry Sergeant leading the militia muster, and lace up for some 1860s athletic games including three-legged races, sack runs and more. Cheer along during the Village's hand-pumped fire engine trials. You may even be invited to join a team and try your hand at pumping this amazing machine. Be sure to get your piece of birthday cake! Upper Canada Village will operate seven days a week from May 22 to September 6 from 9:30 am to 5:00 pm. From September 7 to Village closing on October 10, Upper Canada Village will operate 5 days per week (Wednesday to Sunday) from 9:30 am to 5:00 pm.
