Family Music & Arts Festival - Labour Day Weekend
Looking for some sing-along, dance-along and laugh-along fun to wrap up your family’s summer season? Upper Canada Village is hosting its third annual “Family Music and Arts Festival” at the Family Activity Centre (a favourite Village attraction throughout the summer months). The Festival will take place on Labour Day Weekend, August 30, 31 and September 1, and features a colourful line-up of professional entertainers that will be fun for all!
Musical and dramatic entertainment will be ongoing at Upper Canada Village each day during the Labour Day weekend, beginning with the Village's own Travelling Tiltons at 11:30 a.m. Special musical guests at this year's Festival include the Scots-Quebec group Écosse, Haines and Leighton on fiddle and accordion, guitarist Neil Emberg, and glengarry's own fiddle champ, Ashley MacLeod. For some theatrical entertainment, the Rag and Bone Puppet Theatre will perform "The Flying Canoe" based on the French-Canadian tale "La Chasse Galerie") and the David Smith Marionettes will perfrom "Jack and the Beanstalk".
All afternoon performances are indoors at the Family Activity Centre and will take place rain or shine. Show times are:

Considered a “gem” by AAA/CAA and the recipient of the “highest distinction” 3-star rating by the Michelin Travel Guide, Upper Canada Village immerses guests daily in 19th century life, with more than a dozen demonstrated trades, a working 1860s flour mill and bakery, cheese-making, and heritage farming, including 19th century plant varieties, as well as Canadian horses and Berkshire pigs, both rare breeds. Guests can travel by horse and wagon or by tow scow along the river.
The “Family Music and Arts Festival” wraps up the summer, just in time for a variety of upcoming fall events at the Village including “Fall Gardens” day on September 13, the “Fall Fair” on September 20 & 21, the “Quilt Show” on September 27 & 28, and “Fall at the Farm”, taking place from September 29 to October 5, when the Village’s daily operations close for the season.
